«Luchnik-E» short-range anti-aircraft missile system, developed by Joint-stock company «Scientific and Production Corporation Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering» together with «Saratov Aggregate Plant» Open Joint Stock Company and «Ryazan State Instrument Plant» JSC, is intended to protect small-sized objects and military units (including during the march) from attacks of low-flying air attack defeating their self-guided anti-aircraft missiles 9M342 from «Igla-S» portable anti-aircraft missile system (9K338) within organized and natural optical interference portable anti-aircraft missile system within day and night conditions with the target automatic detection and tracking. The complex is capable of hitting day and night modern tactical aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. The complex is capable of hitting air targets in motion at speeds of up to 20 km/h.
